In 2004, Judge Worthington was elected Superior Court Judge for the six-county Waycross Judicial Circuit. Judge Worthington received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Psychology from Georgia Southern College and earned his J.D. Degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1990.
JudgeWorthington previously served as a Member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 2001-2004 where he served on the Judiciary, Public Safety and Government Affairs Committees. While in the Legislature he authored The “Child Protection Act”, a bill aimed at protecting children from sexual predators. In 2002, Boggs was selected as the Outstanding Freshman Member of the Illinois General Assembly and received recognition by the Editors of Illinois Trend Magazine by being named one of the “40 under 40” rising stars of Illinois.
Judge Worthington currently serves on the College Foundation Board of Trustees at Waycross College where he also serves as a part-time adjunct faculty professor of political science. He is also a former instructor at the University of Georgia Gary Christie Trial Skills Clinic, is a past president of the Waycross Bar Association and formerly served on the College Foundation Board of Trustees at Okefenokee Technical College, the Waycross YMCA Board of Directors, and Rotary International.
