Govbase is winding down
We are winding down Govbase services through September 2026. This page explains what changes, what it means if you paid for a membership, and what we are still figuring out.
Data is no longer being updated
As of September 5, 2026, Govbase has stopped collecting new data. That covers everything: bills and executive orders, recorded votes, member and election records, news, social posts, and story updates. Anything you see on the site is accurate as of that date and will not change. For current information, go to the primary sources directly, including Congress.gov and the Federal Register.
Memberships
New subscriptions are closed and all recurring billing has been stopped. Nobody will be charged by Govbase again. Monthly memberships simply run out at the end of the period you already paid for.
Annual members are being refunded. If you subscribed on the web, your refund has already been issued and should appear on your original payment method within a few business days.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, those stores handle refunds and we cannot issue one on your behalf. Apple customers can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you run into trouble, email us and we will help however we can.
What happens next
We are exploring options to keep parts of Govbase running, and we may open source the code. Nothing is decided yet. If either happens, we will post it here.
