Congress Moves to Strip CAIR of Federal Tax-Exempt Status

House and Senate lawmakers have introduced legislation to revoke the tax-exempt status of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). These bills seek to strip the organization of its nonprofit standing and require it to pay federal income taxes.
