Proposed Legislation Seeks Harsher Penalties for Health Care Fraud

Legislators are pushing to significantly increase prison sentences and criminal fines for those convicted of defrauding federal health programs. The proposed Punishing Health Care Fraudsters Act aims to deter systemic abuse by more than doubling the maximum potential jail time.
