Reintroduced
Reintroduced from S. 2380 (118th), which died when its Congress ended.
This bill extends a federal grant program that helps military veterans and minority farmers get the training and support they need to run successful farms. It keeps the program running through the year 2031 to ensure these farmers have long-term access to government resources.
To help more people, the bill requires the Department of Agriculture to provide translation and interpretation services. This ensures that farmers who speak different languages can understand government rules and apply for technical help or financial aid without language barriers.
The bill makes it easier for organizations to help farmers by increasing the length of grants from three years to four years. It also gives special priority to groups that offer translation services when they apply for these federal funds.
Every five years, the government would be required to collect and publish data on who is getting farm loans, disaster help, and grazing permits. This data will be sorted by race, ethnicity, and gender to help the public see if government support is being distributed fairly across all groups.
