North Charleston Police Officers Attacked by Large Crowd During Fourth of July Block Party
North Charleston police officers were assaulted while responding to reports of gunfire at a permitted Fourth of July block party in the Chicora-Cherokee community. A group of teenagers attacked the officers as they attempted to disperse the crowd and manage the scene. Both officers involved have since returned to duty. Authorities confirmed that four arrests have been made in connection with the assault, including three juveniles and one adult.
