Social Security Administration to Enroll Newborns in Trump Accounts Program
The Social Security Administration announced it will help parents enroll their newborns in the new Trump Accounts program. Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano stated that the agency will use the Enumeration at Birth process to ensure children can access the program from the day they are born. This initiative follows a push to promote savings and financial education for American families. The program provides one thousand dollars in seed funding for tax-advantaged investment accounts for children born between 2025 and 2028. The Treasury Department is currently launching these accounts for millions of registered children, who can access the funds for specific purchases once they turn 18. Republican leaders are expecting a political boost from the rollout of these investment tools.
